  • February 29, 2024

Augment Health, Inc., a medical technology company developing next generation urologic monitoring tools for patients with chronic conditions, recently announced an investment from Vanderbilt University’s Innovation Investment Committee (“IIC”).

The IIC investment follows milestones the company achieved in 2023, including: a pre-clinical animal study demonstrating the technology’s accuracy, an assessment of existing health insurance coverage reimbursement models, and pre-submission work for the U.S. FDA.

Looking toward 2024, Augment Health co-founder and CTO, Stephen Kalinsky, described the impact this round of funding enables, stating: “The investment will be instrumental to developing a commercially viable product ready for clinical studies.”

Further commenting, co-founder and CEO, Jared Meyers, indicated: "The IIC investment marks the next stage in Augment’s progress; we are excited by the strong support from the start-up ecosystem in Nashville.”

Founded in 2021 by Georgia Tech alumni, biomedical engineers Jared Meyers and Stephen Kalinsky, the company joined the ZeroTo510’s accelerator program in Memphis post-graduation. In 2023, Augment relocated to Nashville to join Vanderbilt University’s Wond’ry Center of Innovation having been selected to participate in the Founder Program.

Established in 2023, the IIC fosters innovation in-and-amongst the university community as part of the greater Discovery Vanderbilt initiative.
